A Swedish Island Fairytale
Tabita & Christian
My first wedding in Sweden! Tabita and Christian have family there, and they loved the idea of getting married in such a beautiful place. Many of their guests, however, traveled from Switzerland. Since I speak Swiss German and English, communication with both families was easy for me—and I even know a little Swedish. It’s not enough for a full conversation, but I can manage the basics, like asking for food! 🙂 But it wasn’t just my language skills or wedding portfolio that led them to book me. Imagine a remote island with few stores or services like you’d find in a city. Not only am I a photographer, but I’m also a makeup artist, and that was a big plus for Tabita. She was able to tick off two important things from her list by hiring me!
We spent the weekend together: a family barbecue on Friday, the wedding on Saturday, and a brunch on Sunday. The rugged beauty of the Swedish island, with its wind-swept landscape and stunning venue, set the stage for breathtaking photos. The ceremony itself took place on a rocky outcrop by the sea. Tabita made her entrance alongside her father, walking across the stone surface toward Christian, with the sea and horizon as the backdrop. It was one of those magical, goosebump-inducing moments. We had an amazing time with their friends and family, and I feel incredibly proud to have captured these unforgettable memories for them.
